Gendering Camera

This moving image shows that he is in control, the lighting is emphasizing her shape, showing her as the sex object. The shots make the audience focus on her because you can see the shape of her body. The camera is showing she is feminine because she looks feminine and beautiful. The camera is moving smoothly behind them, making it more feminine because women are seen as being soft and smooth. Calmly moving like a female should move.





This is a masculine moving image because the camera is moving fast like the men are moving, shaking around, roughly filmed, hand held. The camera is at a low angle this shows that people are dominating over them, they are undercover and rushing around.

Masculine or Feminine?

Feminine- becuase hes a hosewife not the sex object, domain of the house, looks moody.
The lighting makes her look feminine because it makes her stand out.

Masculine, because the angle shows he is taller, more dominant.
The lighting gives a masculine effect because it is not giving detail in the shot.

Shot is masculine, he is of power and is over he, but can be argued to be feminine because she is in the shot more than he is.
The lighting in this shot makes Bella look like she has beautiful skin, making her look quite feminine.

This is masculine, because it is a low angle shot making her look powerful and dominating.
The lighting is preventing the viewer from seeing detail on her face.

This is masculine because the lighting makes him look rugged, it makes him look more masculine because his facial features are emphasized and you can see the lines in his face. hard lighting, makes him look bold, masculine and defined.

This is a feminine shot because the lighting is making her skin look soft and smooth. This emphasizes her facial features. it is a close up of her face and her complexion looks clear and very pretty. Faint, weak, soft lighting, makes her look more passive and feminine.

This is a feminine shot, this is because the lighting is making her sexual features that draw in men attention stand out. the lighting is lighting up the bum, this is making it stand out, draw the attention her. Also making her look like the sex-object.

This is a masculine shot, this is because the leader is the dominant one, because they are walking towards us showing they have power. The lighting is quite bright shows power.

Masculine and Feminine Task

 Housewife, fragile, in the kitchen, just takes care of the house.

 This shows that women are the sex object, it is provocative, to get the attention and impress men.

 This is the Mother, protective of her daughter, looking after the children.

 Secretary, Looks good for the males, trying to impress.

 Alpha male, The bigger one, leader of the group, having a beer with the 'Lads'.

Post-masculine, trying to fit in, but do not fit in with the male stereotype of being a 'Lad'

 Working male, Goes out to work, earns the money for the family, typical male job.

 

Alpha female Red dress, controlling and manipulating, uses being the sex object to her advantage.
